Nursing Students¡¯ Flipped Learning Class Experience using Digital Content as Pre-learning Materials

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand and explore the class experiences of nursing students in the flipped learning class method using various digital contents as pre-learning materials.
Methods: A Focus group interview and individual in-depth interview were conducted with 13 participants who could provide sufficient experience using digital content as pre-learning materials. The Collected data were analyzed using conventional content analysis.
Results: The Results of this study had four categories and nine subcategories. The four categories were: ¡°changed response to pre-learning using digital contents¡±, ¡°times that changed me¡±, ¡°effective lessons for all students¡±, and ¡°the need to improve content selection as educational materials¡±.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that instructors should expand the flipped learning class method to improve learner-centered classes and learning effects. When selecting educational materials for pre-learning,
more diverse digital contents considering learner characteristics can be used.
